OB15 flats boat - launch pictures

Post by tech_support »

I received an email today with some pictures of a very nice OB15 finished as a flatsboat. I do not even know where the builder is from, but it looks like Biscayne bay and Miami in the back ground.

wow, that looks awesome.

Looks like she floats pretty shallow too.

Do you know what paint was used on the hull?

Joel, I think this is the OB 15 I built and sold last year. It did go to Miami. Love to take a ride with that 50 yamaha on it.

I searched for your original thread on this boat. You did an excellent job! When you straightened out the sheer did you also lower it? I love what you did with the extra lip too! VERY cool boat!

I remember this boat very well done.

Jim,
I think we spoke several times about the sheer
on my OB15 and yours came out nearly just like
mine did. Very neat little boat, sure wish I had
mine still. :|

Guys,

Just came across the replies on this. Thanks for the complimnets but clearly the new Owner brought the job to a beautiful conclusion.

I did cut the shear down about 3-4" and made it straight (no sweep). The overhang on the deck worked out great. What a great boat! The guy who bought it called me out of the blue after seeing on this site and just really wanted it. Might have to build the new improved version some day but am playing around with Correct Craft inboards right now.

DAYTRIP,
I would like to build the OB15 similar to the style as the one you built.

Lower the sheer and add the deck overhang.

Can you give me a few more details on how you set this up?

Mike
