What happened to the lapstrake rowboat design?

I was looking through the small boat designs and noticed that one seems to be missing. It was a glued plywood lapstrake row boat. I always thought it would be a nice boat to build but now it is missing. Is it still for sale?

I put a 40hp on my OD18, the recommened size from Jacques. Even though the study plans say that it can take a max 70hp, I have never felt the need for anything larger than a 40hp. BTW, the 40hp at WOT runs at 30mph.

Larry, I used short screws that did not penetrate into the inside of the boat. With the two 1/4" top panels overlapping and the first 1/4" strip for the spray rail, you already have a 3/4" thickness to work with. No need to penetrate all the way through. I built mine in my driveway an...

Larry, I put my sprayrail on the upper panel. Since that panel is 1/4" thick, I laminated two layers of 1/4" plywood for the sprayrail. Total 3/4" thick. I glued the layers to the boat seperate, one layer at a time. I positioned the strips with wood screws first without glue, then I b...

I put a skeg and sprayrail on my OD and have never regretted it. I laminated 2 1x2's together for the skeg. I used two layers of 1/4" plywood for the sprayrails. While underway, you can see the sprayrails doing their job. I have never gotten wet once in the OD. Without them, it would be a much ...

Since I have side mount controls, I mounted mine under the controls on the side of my console.

I mounted some rod holders on the other side.

Mike, Drive over the Pensacola Bay bridge to Gulf Breeze. Go to Shoreline Park. Start wading from there east. There are some very productive grassbeds there where you might get some nice specks, flounder, and or reds. Or, you can drive east through Gulf Breeze along Hwy 98. Right outside Gulf Breeze...

Great job Brent. I never tire of looking at the lines of an OD18. They are beautiful boats and yours is no exception.

You'll find out soon enough that the only thing more fun than building one is using one. I take mine out as much as possible.

Enjoy your success!!!
