SB18 on the water

Hi all, it's been a long time since I added anything to this forum. I added a few new pictures to my Photo page, so if anyone is interested here is the link to the page. I don't have any pictures under sail and it maybe next year before I am able to take some. https://picasaweb.google.com/rolson519/...

Re: SB18 - Stanchions

I built my own stanchions and stern pulpits using parts that I bought from the marine store Fisheries Supply in Seattle. The parts were made by Sea Dog and I used 1.0 inch diameter thin wall stainless steel tubing. You can see photos on my photo page provided in my signature. Best of luck.

Re: SB18

The mast set up on my SB-18 is deck stepped. There is a compression post inside the cabin and the mast is hinged on the aft side of the mast " tabernacle type of set up". I believe I will be able to raise it by myself. As of now I have raised it several times with two people without any pr...

Re: SB18

Jim, I have built the SB-18 and have yet to launch the boat. It is on the trailer and I have raised the mast several times. I have had a single helper for the last two or three times and it has been very simple. I believe that I will be able to raise it by myself if necessary but one usually goes sa...

Re: SB-18 in Port Townsend

The sail was made by Ullman Sails in San Diego, CA. It is their Fiberpath Sail and I believe it has Kevlar fibers and a tinted mylar surface material. You may go to their web site "Ullmansails.com" and fined out more infomation. This was the least expensive sail that I was able to fined. E...

Re: SB-18 in Port Townsend

Received my Main sail this weekend and put it up while on the trailer to see what it looks like. Thought some of you may want to take a look. I purchased it through Ullman Sails. I put photos on my photo page and will try to add a couple to the gallery on this site.

Re: SB-18 in Port Townsend

Hi all, I'm ready to roll :D . Well it rolls but only back into the shop for more work. Still have lots of things to get accomplished before the launch but it is on the trailer. Main sail delivery is about a month out so we will see if I can be ready for that day. Added some pictures to my album and...

Re: SB-18 in Port Townsend

It just doesn't get that hot in the Pacific Northwest. We had a very warm dry winter but we have had a "blankity-blank" spring. It's been just terrible, wet and cold. Has been very depressing and difficult to get anything accomplished. I'm now trying to fit the SB-18 to the trailer I purch...

Re: SB-18 in Port Townsend

I was finally able to add a few pictures to Robert Olson's album "SB-18 in Port Townsend". Hope this makes it easier for all to see some photos of my SB-18. I will try to add more in the coming days.
