Re: Somethings not right. CX25
Peter, The stringers were just cut to narrow, simple as that, the measurement at the transom was correct, and then I marked them parallel rather than increasing the depth as I went down the length. Peter, I love the island life. I have some good friends in Madeira, and nothing beats going out with g...

Re: Somethings not right. CX25
Hi Peter, hope you are well. I had measured the inside stringers wrong, it was as simple as that. I am collecting some more ply tomorrow morning that should get the stringers done in the next couple of days. Then its just a case of offering all the pannels up and stitching. I am off out to Madeira a...

Re: Curacao CS 25
I would guess that Peter has had his account hacked. He only replied to a post in one of my threads the other day. I think J or J should look into this. Peter, if by chance I am wrong dont get rid of the thread, there is so much useful info in these 60 odd pages. Its just to good to trash. Hope you ...

Re: Somethings not right. CX25
Yes Peters right, base line is the bottom of the sole, top of stringers. I feel a right idiot at the moment. I have figured out what I have done. On the plans the stringer drawing has a measurement thats something like 3???mm straight. I basicly took this measurement and made a paralel strign...

Re: Somethings not right. CX25
Keel to baseline measurements are as follows B 367 C 450 D 462 E 456 F 429 G 412 H 399 I 384 TRANSOM 384 I guess if thats the case my stringer depths are incorrect. I dont have them with me at home so I will check tomorrow, but I am sure the plans call for the stringer width to be paralel over the f...

Re: Somethings not right. CX25
Walk away, come back, walk away, come back. I think i know what Ihave done wrong. I have marked and cut the stringer notches all the way down to the baseline, hence thing are all to pot. As the distance from the baseline to the keel varies from station to station there is no wonder that my stringers...

Re: Somethings not right. CX25
Peter,
I think that maybe you are correct. To me it looks like the only place to be in question, but the measurements are correct. If all that is needed to fix the problem is to alter that hight, then I may be lucky!

Re: Somethings not right. CX25
Right then, I like to attack problems with a clear head. So I thought I would leave things for a couple of weeks. Little did I know that mother nature would throw her full might at us, giving us one of the worst winters I can remember in 35 years! We had snow on the ground for the best part of a mon...
