A couple of ideas :

Build in a bench seat along the back. Maybe a shelf for ammo and "necessities" along the front. A step on each end for getting in/out. A more complex build but the extra angles would add rigidity to the box and make for less of an excavation.

I think Jacques would like to see builds that achieve the simple elegance of his designs.

Some come close, most have other ideas. Sometimes alot of ideas.

I'm guessing Jacques has nightmares, literally, about over-built boats.

Have you tried Craigslist or maybe ebay?

That's a beauty. The brightwork looks very rich. The oarlocks are setting a new standard in ... oarlocks.

Now go put on some wear! I want to see scratches, dings and dents!

Another design of this type I'd like to see would be a prone paddleboard: long and narrow, you kneel and paddle with both hands. You don't expect to stand up on it, just cover alot of water. It would be cool if it could be used kayak style, kind of like a surf ski, and have capacity to carry skin di...

When doing this kind of work, do-overs and recovery are part of the bargain. You're going above and beyond here.

The main takeaway though is never, ever, ever mix 2:1 as 1:1...

ever.

I like to be able to slide around on a seat. Kiwi grip would tend to hold dirt/fish blood/guts which could transfer to clothing, where paint is a quick wipedown.

I'd keep kiwi to the heavy wear areas, or areas where you need the extra traction.
