Building a boogie board

So I've got some leftover divinycel, glass cloth, and epoxy. Any reason this couldn't be used to build a boogie board for my kids? Anybody done this?

Cutting foam core- safety measures?

I'm using foam core to rebuild my Banana River and am about to start cutting foam for the interior of the hull. I know I need to wear safety goggles to prevent dust from getting into my eyes and a respirator to make sure I don't inhale it but do I need a tyvek suit or the like? It's standard 1"...

Re: Project hull bottom has a bow in it- how to remove

Thanks for the tips. For some reason the pics wouldn't load but I believe I've got this issue fixed. The bow in the bottom, not the pics. The bottom of this hull is practically a zero deadrise but there are 3 longitudinal strakes. The main keel and poling strakes on either side. Each one is about 1....

Project hull bottom has a bow in it- how to remove

So I’m rebuilding a ‘79 Banana River Skiff which is basically the predecessor to the modern Dolphin Super Skiff Renegade. It supposed to have about a 2-degree deadrise bottom but after doing all the demo I’ve found it has a bit of a bow in the bottom from sitting on a poorly fitted trailer for years...

Alternatives to marine-grade plywood

I was discussing the whole boat building enterprise with my brother-in-law and as he has a decent amount of experience w/ fiberglass, resins, epoxies, etc. (he knows the folks over at West System really well) and he brought up the idea of using the hard, closed-cell foam product divinycell instead o...

you can use a portable tank, but the casting deck frame need to be left open
Good to know.

And I'd assume that if I put a permanent tank in an enclosed hatch I'd need to have some sort of vent too, right?

Thanks for the answers.

Also, after reading several topics on here about the FS18 I've got another question.

If I'm using a portable fuel tank under the casting deck in an enclosed hatch do I need to provide any sort of vent?

Questions about an FS18 build for a 1st timer

OK, so I've decided that the FS18 is the best for my needs of a poling skiff for the back lakes and bayous here in Texas but have some questions first. 1) rounded chine vs. hard chine? Does keeping a hard chine have any positive affect on the boat's stability? Is the rounded chine harder to build th...
