A lot depends on whether your friend wants to get wet frequently ( laser/laser 2/Sunfish or moonfish) or stay reasonably dry (snipe/wayfarer/C13 ect) Also is he going to sail alone or with another. Merry Christmas to all. Its a white Christmas here in Ontario. We had about a 10 inch fall at our place last nite. Some very light rain but it will be white as temperatures will drop tonite.

I taught a program at the ski resort for the Patrol last nite. It was snowing when we left. Tonite they will play with the fan guns and lay up some "whales" near the hotel to use for the promotional "rail jam" during the ski swap November 9. Same every good lite next week. We ope...

when we took out docks last weekend at the sailing club a member took away some of the float cubes to "weld" as they have holes in them. Thaey showed me some that were fixed two yewars ago that did service all this season from may 1 to now.. They use some sort of a heat welding process.

I have a "cranky" yamaha 2 stroke 4 hp on my sailboat. I envy my cubmates with their older MErc and OMC engine. Use it seldom, enen usually dock under sail. It runs well when started but its never a first pull thing. I'll be looking this winter for an older aux engine.

My 30 plus year old siren uses a small winch not unlike that on a boat trailer to lift the falsekeel/centerbaord. Could some adaptation help. Mine always works wekk- the assembly is about 130 pounds.

There is an FS 14 in the gallery set up in a center console fasion with a sole. What you are suggesting is not much different.
