I understand what you are saying about one sheet of ply for the layer(s) on the transom. I'm confused on why you used 2 layers of 3/4 though. Is that per spec and I just missed that part? Or do you have an "experimental craft  " you want to run a larger moter on? :D At what point ...

Gloves

Anybody tried "N-DEX" nitrile gloves? I'm not sure where to get them locally, but we go through cases of them at work every day. I could probably get them pretty easily if I new they were not going to melt to my hands :? when exposed to epoxy. I now they don't like methanol very much, but ...

deedee- What are you building? On a previous thread ( http://www.bateau2.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=2472I ) was crying about the cost and availability of ply wood in my area (Northwest suburb of Chicago). I will be working on an OB15, and have found; thanks to Jacques, a ni...

Fly, that is a great tip on the chine... Thanks. :D Also, I suspected that I would be beveling the butt blocks slightly to help smooth where they meet, but I planned on looking at it when the hull was stiched together. Because of the way the sides lay against the bottom to create the chine, I was no...

All hull panels are full length. They are not the same length when unrolled but will fit. :? Hunh? I got the butt block splicing part. I didn't understand the part quoted above. I noticed the same thing with the "third layer on the transom" in my OB15 plans, and I thought I new wha...

Looks like you just did my research for me. I was going to look at the possibility and practicality of mix and matching types based on desired effect and performance. Thanks.

Thanks Jacques, I'll keep it in mind. After rereading the thread, and DrBones' site, I will have to think on this some more. I was planning to use the XL fir, but noticed the EuroLite this weekend. I want it because it is lighter. A few pounds per sheet can make a world of difference in the complete...
