Any suggestion as to what brands of varnish can be used below the water line. Everything I have looked at say not to use varnish below the water line.
The boat will be trailered and will not be kept in the water.

Re: Not Clear???
The $900 budget is just for the motor. However its looking like I may just have to wallop the wallet to get what I'm really looking for. It may just be easier to buy a new motor with the remote/tilt already installed. As for the rest of the components, I'm confident that I will be able to find what ...

Re: Not Clear???
Thanks Joel Your post helped some, but the steering still leaves me scratching my head. I figured most models would have proprietary accessories, but what your saying is that some companies might not even offer remote controls for 20 horse or smaller? Also I'm not sure what model/ brand outboard to ...

Not Clear???
Hey guys I need some help clearing a few things up. I have been looking for a 15-20 hp outboard for the past 2 weeks now and have become more confused than when I started! Can all outboards be set up for a remote system? Or do I have to buy a motor specifically remote use? Also can I add electric tr...

Re: FS14 * middle bench & butt-block
If one was to choose FG over using butt blocks what weight FG would they use? Would the FG need to be at least the same width fore and aft as the BB? And would it only require 1 lamination, or 2? With the FL12 I had a flat spot and had to use a lot more material to correct it. I would like to avoid ...

A couple more pics of the FL 12
Here are a few more pics of the FL 12. We cought a few small mouth, perch and a ton of stupid sheep head. We love the boat, could be a little bigger depending on the chop, FS 14 CC is next!! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v149/jbing81/avatar.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v149/jbing81/fl12...

Re: FS 14 sheer line
The OB15 is what I wanted to build in the first place. However when taking into account the outboard, and trailer tongue I was too long by 9". At least with the FS14 I can still utilize my utility trailer and just fit.

Re: FS 14 sheer line
I understand the added cost with adding height to the sheer line, however I don't understand how adding 4" would make the boat anymore unstable? Living in the Detroit area and spending much of my time on Lake St. Clair I want to make sure that I am as protected as much as possible in a smaller ...
