Re: AR15 in Ohio
Sorry for not updating - There was a little disagreement last week and I'm moving. Work has been crazy so I've only now gotten my computer set up. I hope to take the M35 this weekend to bring the boat to its new home. I don't know how long it will be until I'm all settled in and can work on it but I...

Re: AR15 in Ohio
Sorry for the lack of updates. I have not forgotten about the boat, but I have been bidding on some .gov surplus items and to my great surprise I won something. http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t242/jsriolo/Kaiser/24897852.jpg I am going to pick up my new boat puller Wednesday - hopefully I'll hav...

Re: rudder and keel shaping
Thank you for the tip, I wouldn't have found that out until I sailed, heard the bzzzzz at speed, and asked here. Now I can fix it before I'm in the water.

Re: rudder and keel shaping
A narrow flat (3-5mm) on the trailing edge of a keel or rudder is practical, does no harm, and is much stronger of course than a razor thin edge. But bevel the flat at an angle (say 30 to 45 deg from centerline of foil) to prevent vibrations at higher speed. Is this what you mean? http://i162.photo...

Re: AR15 in Ohio
I finally flipped the hull. It was a lot easier and faster than I expected (unlike everything else on this project). http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t242/jsriolo/boat/100_1199.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t242/jsriolo/boat/100_1203.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t242/jsriolo/boa...

Re: AR15 in Ohio
Nice work, but I hope you plan on painting over that tinted epoxy. As far as I know the epoxy has no UV inhibitors and will break down when exposed to sunlight. Tinted epoxy is cool for insides of compartments and such, but paint is still needed for long term use. George Actually, I haven't even fa...

Re: AR15 in Ohio
Do not use fast hardener when it is 80 degrees. That shit almost went critical! http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t242/jsriolo/boat/100_1179.jpg Sanding fiberglass is a bitch... Get your friends to do it. http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t242/jsriolo/boat/100_1173.jpg Ready for paint (epoxy+pigme...
