Over all the weight savings might be 10%, I was referring to the plywood, is about 15% different. only.

That really came out nice.

I visited Peter several times during construction (he had purchased the CNC kit from me) and his workmanship was real nice.

The other boat next to the CS23 is his other fishing boat. he had invited my wife and out to fish, I hope that's still an open invitation.

Meranti is a bit stronger, about 15% heavier and is a bit tougher to bend. Either will make a very nice boat. Rot resistance isn't really an issue with this type of construction. If you suffer some damage that exposes wood with either a quick repair to minimize exposure is prudent. Okoume is about 3...

What we have done in the past is builders bought the foam from bateau and I cut cnc cut some patterns from 1/8 masonite. Saved on shipping the foam to me and the masonite is easy to work and readily available. We did this for a PH22 a few years back.
