Re: AB 23
They look great. Make sure to use something sandable for fairing. Just cabosil alone is really hard to sand.

Probably on the deck. Right where Jen’s chair is in this picture.Aripeka Angler wrote: ↑Tue Apr 15, 2025 7:41 pm Where is the tank going to be located? Across the stern?

Aluminum tank above deck
Can I mount this tank above deck for a second fuel tank?
If yes, any advice on the how? Would you guys just plumb the supply side to one of the motors and put a valve on each tank?
Aluminum 53 gallons, great condition, not a pit anywhere outside.

Re: Battery
Two I have luck with are the Optima and any East Penn rebrands in agm or agm gel. I generally avoid trickle chargers. Have one on a boat, but low faith. The reason is the cheap ones deliver a steady current regardless of the state of charge (soc). And probably mid winter; your batteries need a littl...

Re: AB 23
I’d skip fly by wire and run hydraulics and a liquid tie bar. The downside is the kicker is always steering. The upside is the same.. An alternative is a separate helm for the kicker. I seem to recall seeing some mini helm setups, but don’t know diddly. I guess it depends on the use case. Will you t...

Re: AB 23
I go light twins on separate systems. Separate batteries and tanks. And ACR. Or, add a 25hp kicker. Pull start on separate 6 gallon tank. The twins is a lot more money and cost. Gotta determine steering either system. For a small boat in the Gulf of call it what you want, I’d not want to be without ...

Re: RB16 new build KY 1st timer
The ply separation occurs because the glues and the plywood cores have varying coefficients of thermal expansion. Keeping the boat out of direct sun will help. The sun hits the wood and the glue and they expand and contract at different rates; fyi.

Re: Cracker Larry's No Excuse
I am serious, but I am also not ready. I have to list my house, move, fix the church, and fix the boat.
I need a nicer boat for the shallows. Would probably want to jackplate the boat.
Would you be willing to accept a downpayment and store it for not to exceed 12 months?
