Re: Cape Man's Dory

The wood on the gunwales and foredeck need attention (again). The 4 ounce glass has several places where it is delaminatting, there's a crack that needs repair, and a few places where the wood is darkened due to water exposure. My plan is to take it back down to the wood, reseal it and put new glas...

Re: Woods Skoota 32DM

Well, I am starting more work on the boat. The BBs were modified in August and had two prototypes. Gonna make them the same and add G10 edges to them and see if they stand up to river timber.

Gonna add foam to the aft hull as well.

Need some luck. I’ll add pictures as I go.

Re: DE 27.5

I made a load cell setup for my boat. It was pretty sketchy. The cells were bending on the mounts and the boat had to be level and was kinda leaning and moving. Much easier to get a trailer under and take it to a commercial scale. Mine was a different story at 17’ wide. I could send you the stuff, b...

Re: 1988 HydraSports 2500 WA Vector

Please give us a picture of the transom area to help is make sure we are not missing anything. The intersection of the stringers and knees is vital in transferring loads from transom to hull. You cannot slide puttied panels down into a groove, so stringers must be cut back and repaired to replace a ...

Re: 1988 HydraSports 2500 WA Vector

So, your big question is on the glass needed. Always tricky for us to provide you with a soec because we are not composites engineers and someday a person hangs a couple 425hp off the back and blames us for friendly tips when their boat sinks. Tort law makes that possible. Your wood is too light at ...

Does the same methodology apply to the stringer connections with the 1700?

Fallguy, where you B? Your advice is always well respected as well.

Boat looks good and the humor is always fun. I think you ought to ask for a refund and skip the photography class. I have one criticism of the boat which you will ultimately likely agree with…and hate me now for saying. Those hatches on the aft bench area all needed to be on the side. You will const...

Re: New boat from elsewhere

It looks like 3/16" zip ties will be my go to size, spaced and tightened a little as I go. I was also considering the little pieces of PVC pipe to help with alignment. I saw that on a video and that looks like a nice little trick to help things go together. My boat will have fiber glass on the...
