Re: johnnemo GF16
Holy Cow! 8O Its been over a year since my last post! Time to get this thing moving forward again. I ordered my hatches a few days ago but that haven't arrived yet. Can't wait to see what "Dophin Gray" looks like. The online store didn't have the two sizes I needed in any other matc...

GF 16 - Installing Tackle Center in Rear Seat Frame
Can I install a Tackle Center like this:

in the rear seat frame (the vertical section, not the top of the seat), or will it weaken the structure?

Re: johnnemo GF16
I relocated my build outside for the messy stages. Per Joel's (shine) recommendation, I am using scrap pieces of ply to make my cleats. I used the table saw to cut 1.5" stips (I guess that's wide enough?) which will be double stacked. I will not have enough to make the rub rails, spray rails, o...

Re: Birmingham RB14
Congratulations on getting started. Posting updates on the forum motivates me to keep going - I can look back and see what I have accomplished and when I find myself on page 4 I know its time to get busy building. Good luck with the build.

In 'myvoodoo's build he makes the following statement.... "I'm 69 and learned some time back that cutting corners only comes back to bite you in the butt, no matter what you are doing in life.......Yes, I might spend a extra few bucks but the finished product but it will be around a long time w...

Attaching sides to Mid Seat Frames - GF 16
I tried attaching the sides today and when I follow the plans and attach the sides on a level surface I found that the mid-seat frame I am attaching the sides to is 1/8" to 1/4" lower than the side panel. I guess this is because the side panel is angled and does not rest completely flush w...

Drain Holes for GF 16
What size drain holes are recommended for a GF16 for water to pass through the bottom of the bulkheads? Should I use 1/2 circles cut with a hole saw, or use a large hole bit and have the bottom of the circle be flush with the floor of the boat? Any pictures would be very helpful. Is it best to cut t...
