Re: Encapsulation

The ply is Okume. I did a very light sand thinking I was knocking these off but I guess I didn't do it well enough. Let me define splinter. I don't mean big nasty finger poking splinters. They are really small about the size of a stitching needle tip. I cant tell if it is from the grain ending in th...

Encapsulation

I was going to upload some pics of this but can't at the moment due to the server switch. I have put 3 layers of neat epoxy onto my wood for encapsulation purposes. The first layer was just thick enough to wet out the wood. The next two layers were just thin enough to let the roller roll instead of ...

Paint Calculation

I am nearing the purchase of paint for my FL14 I am building. I am going to use the System 3 WR-LPU. I would like to know how to calculate how much paint I will need. But I will settle if someone could just tell me how much paint it would require.

FL14 Transom Thickness

I was doin a little perusing and saw a couple people talking about the transom thickness on the FL14 was still too thin with the double layered transom to accept any trolling motor or outboard clamp. Does anyone know what the standard is for the minimum clamping width on a trolling motor? Say Minn K...

Rub Rails

Can a store bought rub rail replace the laminated wooden rubrails described in the plans for any boat?

Does it matter the type if it can be used such as Rigid, Flexible, or Semi-Rigid?

Paint Colors

Can a custom color be supplied for purchase?

Or can I blend two or more colors together to achieve a desired color?

Or is there color additives available for some brand of paints?
