Re: FS14 feels like it's wagging it's tail a little
I looks to me like there is something about the bottom or chine on the starboard side of the boat. Something is disturbing a pretty large amount of water and causing a splash up into the rooster tail. After looking back at your build pictures I would say that you have a dip in the starboard chine ju...

In fact you can mix the slow and medium hardeners together in any ratios you want to create custom cure times.

Re: Quickfair - System 3 primer?
Quikfair can be applied over epoxy resin without sanding if done 24-36 hours after epoxy application? you need to sand the epoxy, if for no other reason to remove highs, the QF needs some tooth to grab on to. I would go very it quickly with 60 or 80 I checked with System Three customer support. My ...

Re: 1st time Quickfair question?
Thanks for the affirmation on emptying resin containers, new question. I have watched the video on mixing quickfair and have actually a couple of questions..... 1. assuming I mix 10 oz at a time ( 7 + 3 ) and am working in 55 - 60 degree shop what is my approximate working time? 2. if I use this to...

Re: Quick Fair - VS Sanding
Leave as much glass as possible. The glass is your strength. The only glass I sand off is the stitched edge on cloth tape. The 45 bias does not have a stitched edge so I just knock down any rough spots the are above the layer of glass and start with the Quick Fair. Quick Fair can cover just about an...

Re: Seat Idea
How about a rectangular piece of heavy canvas with the four corners hooked to the side rails. It would be suspended between the mid and back seat. Kind of like a hammock; only with the ends spread out.

Re: Maiden Voyage for Jaws
I made an extension out of two pieces of 3/8" aluminum and two bolts. Two thoughts come to mind here. First off, this thread that you are replying to is almost 17 months old now. I imagine that the problem is solved  And second, how many times do you really think that 3/8 aluminum and 2 b...

Re: How Tough Are These Boats???
What model boat is that? I have an old 15 foot jon boat that I say has "4 wheel drive" and I've torn up a few props by believing in that a little too much. However, I don't think I'd do that with a boat I took the time to build myself; but I don't mind watching someone ells. Cool video. p...
