I am building an ob18 shortened by 2 feet. I had planned to use a 2003 40 on it however i was just given a late 70's mercury 850 or 85 hp motor. im not building a boat that size but i will tell you to get a grinder a 4" is plenty big enough. it will sand quicker than anything. i would also reccomend a good cordless drill(youll be using it a lot) and lots of clamps more clamps and a few more clamps. also a good 4' level(or bigger), some ...

i recently got a rigid. it works about the same as the porter cable but has more amps and a little more weight. i have only had it a few months so i dont knoew how long it will last. im sure the porter cable is good too
