Re: LM18 LS RC

Nice. 8) hmmm... DeLand, Florida... What's your plan for anchoring that structure down? Did you use those big ground screws? That's what was done with a shed we had in Bradenton, and a few days I was mighty glad of it, and that was a heavy stick and frame shed, with a lot of weight on its floor hold...

Re: LM18 LS RC

I'm pretty sure I don't want to sand and paint a compartment interior through a hatch hole, if I can do it before the compartment top is glued down. But there is some work in that too, planning and taping and masking... much easier than sanding through a hatch. And now, over ten years later, my body...

NIce :) I had laid down masking paper in my pre-painted underseat compartments, before gluing down the seat tops. I was able to get under them through hatch openings, so I could smooth the fillets, and later remove the masking paper. This preserved the painted areas during the glue up, eliminating t...

Re: AD16 Myrtle Beach

Curtains are good, cheap, removable, swappable, and help contribute to the distinctive boat cabin smell. Enter the 'removable and washable' feature. :D 8) If the day comes for my owning such a boat, I would likely do the curtain thing.

Nice progress. :)

Re: AD16 Myrtle Beach

Thank you for the kind words! Yes, that's exactly why I posted it :D Looks like you're really enjoying your beautiful sailboat. Can't wait to get to some of my "destinations" too. The boat and I are hoping to get on the water again soon (me in the boat... rightside up). Been three years s...

Re: LM18 LS RC

Nice :) If you (or the heaviest crew you expect might join you) plan to stand up there, ever, you may want to frame around the hatch cutout, extending to the sides, and or bow and aft frame. Bounce that one off JM. It might not need it if the deck will be sitting right on the flotation foam, but eve...
