despotic931, sorry, i must have scrolled right past your post....my bad. that, however is another option. i could pour the 2 part foam into a cardboard box any size i need to make a block. didn't think of that. ...may be cheaper than buying the stuff i found as well. i wouldn't have to pay for ship...

Both the Nice Canoe and the Cheap Canoe are not canoes at all, they are pirouges threw and threw. Putting a deck on one would simply make it a decked pirouge, or a flat bottom kayak. I was wondering about that as well, I am planning on making a spay skirt for my NC16, but was wonder about building a decked cheapy to play wround with, I was wondering about making the sides a little lower as well.

whats really bad is when we go out snorkeling (yes people snorkel in wisconsin, we even have a dive shop) and poeple buzz our boat when we are in the water with the dive flag flying! Idiots!

sounds like you want a boat simmilar to what I want, I originaly was looking at smaller sea kayaks, I couldnt imagine taking a 17' kayak down class three rapids.
