Thanks for the kind words PJP.
I've gotten a lot of painting done. Decided that green was a nice color. Here's what she looks like.

Primer coat
I got all of the seats puttied up real good. I put on a final coat of epoxy inside and out. I sanded the hull down completely with 100 grit using a side grinder and a palm sander then wiped the whole thing down with a damp cloth. I applied the first coat of primer (Kilz) with a roller brush but that...

Long past due update
It's been a while since I've posted and a lot has been done: Finished taping the inside. Flipped her over and sanded down the seams then taped them. Flipped her over again and realized that I didn't do such a good job taping the inside so I sanded them down and redid them. Installed the skeg and gun...

Project moves on
Since my last post I've been able to get the hull properly stitched together and I've begun the glassing phase. Messy stuff epoxy. The first day the temperature was 70+F. I started mixing 12 pumps each resin and hardener into a styrofoam cup, mixing with a craft stick vigorously then painting all th...

Thanks for the feedback!
The advice and constructive criticism is greatly appreciated. This is my first boat and all of this is new to me. Larry A. - I have done as you suggested and attached scraps of plywood to the distorted frames and it seems to have pulled them into alignment just fine. Also on the subject of how to pu...

Progress
I've added a few more photos at: http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4288337129. I've got the sides completely attached to all of the frames and at the stem now. I'm getting excited about the project. I do have some concerns, however. The bow seat frame has become bent as a result of the sides com...

Gotta mix it right!
I've added a few more photos at: http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4288337129. It was just as I suspected. The 4cc hardener dispenser was only putting out 2cc. The plunger had a bit of plastic tubing acting as a stop so that the plunger would not go through it's full stroke thus controlling the ...

First experience with epoxy.
I've added a few more photos at: http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4288337129. I am sticking the butt joints onto the sides and am having some concerns about the epoxy. I bought MAS resin and hardener and some dispensing pumps. The hardener is supposed to dispense 4cc and the resin 8cc per pump ...

Question for you...
On page 2 of the V10 Building Instructions under Building Sequence: Side panels: it states "Scribe the baseline (see expanded plates drawing) on the plywood: you will use it later to align the two half panels." What does that mean? The plans consist of 5 sheets. 3 are labeled "Concept...
