Motor brackets on a CS 23 or 25

An old thread that I don't think I ever got a clear answer. When motors are mounted on a bracket, can there be a problem with saltwate getting into the motor housing. Like when stopping does backflow rise above the seal area on the motor or motors? When backing up can water rise up on the motors ove...

Phantom 18 Performance

Thanks Lucky, I still have not checked my prop, I am taking a class now, thus time is short. I took the dolfin off, the motor does better. I have no hook in the aft section, however towards the bow their is a slight dip. The motor is a 1998 bought in 99. I am measuring speed with my GPS.. I know tha...

Phantom 18 Performance

Well, I put the Dolfin back on and tried it today, the boat went slower. Top speed was 34 instead of 37. I have a stainless prop but I cannot tell what size it is, it came with the motor a 1998. I think when I re-did the transom I raised the motor by a half inch or so. The motor sits in the top hole...

Phantom 18 Performance

Finished painting and fixing minor problems with my Phantom 18. I rebuilt the transom as part of the project. The motor went back on in the same holes, but here is the problem. I also installed trim tabs. When running I cannot trim the motor high enough to get the kind of performance I think the boa...

Best motor for Saltwater

Howdy Flydangler, I just returned from a week long fishing trip in the Keys. Tried hard to catch Bonefish, we scared them good but did not get any on the line. Spent the last week painting and fixing my 5 year old Phantom 18. I will post a few pictures soon. I have just about decided to not build th...

Push Pole Kits

Joel, any progress on push-pole kits for builders :?: PS, Cobia season is not so hot, last weekend in the Brian's seafood tournament 41 boats only landed 16 fish in two days. We only caught 4 two were undersize. Two 60 pounders were caught though by other boats. :D

PH 18 Rubrail

Tim, I used 1 and 1/4 pvc that I ripped with my skill saw. It does not look like perfection but it works. Now that I have a small table saw I am thinking of re-doing it. I counter sunk some small stainless screws to attach the the pvc. I did this last summer and I have had no problems.

Phantom 15 without Tunnel

Hey just asking questions, I know there is alot more to it than just eliminating parts and adding pieces, that is the reason for questions, plus when you invest the time into a boat project you want your product to be what you want. I am not sure the PH 16 would be much of an advantage over the the ...
