According to what I have read here the ph-18 design lends itself well to a bass boat, it doesn't have to be considered just a flats boat. The hull is in fact very similar to many commercial bass boats. I think it would be a good choice for both your uses.

I'm a little confused. Jacques announcement implies that BS 6566 meranti is no longer being shipped because of quality issues, and that the BS1088 is the only meranti sold now, yet 6566 is still listed at boat builder central.
Is 6566 available or not?

That's what I figured. I was just thinking that Jacques and co might want to take advantage of what seems to be high interest and add the layout option to the PH series to increase sales, but it's probably unnecessary.
