Re: Semi Dory 11 completed
Karl, Glad you like the transport system. I do like it though it's not original with me. One thing I'm doing now which you may want to consider: I leave the sail attached to the mast after sailing, roll it up on the mast and lash the mast/sail inside the boat. I have a sail cover that I put over the...

Re: Semi Dory 11 completed
Thought I would check back in and post an update on the SD11. I finally named the dinghy Little Bit . The name comes from the fact that I had built a 7'6" dinghy a few years earlier and it just wasn't big enough, so I built a little bit bigger dinghy. Here's a link to a Duckworks article that w...

Re: SD11...hopefully!
Marty,
Back at it. Great! a little break? 2 years is a little. Hey, no worry. I took an 18 month break. Looking at your thread brings back lots of memories. I can see those lines in my head. Looking forward to your progress and more pics.
Dale

Re: SD11 Sail Information
Just a thought: if you get a sail with a bolt rope through the luff, you could get the screw on slugs. That is what I did on a 26' boat I owned. It was very easy. As for the size of the slugs, I would think Dwyer could answer that since they know what size the slot will be. As for the size of shackl...

Re: SD11 Sail Information
Not sure about the kit and the setup you're talking about, but here's what I did. I actually built my own sail from a kit I purchased from Sailrite. Though I am no seamstress, it turned out pretty well. I used 11 grommets on the luff. I lace my sail to a wooden mast. Just got out my sail and measure...

Re: SD11 - . . . plans and instructions
Thanks but the SD11 plans could use an update. I understand the confusion of some builders when faced with some of my oldest designs. The boats perform well but the new plans are drafted more clearly. As an SD11 builder, I can add a thought or two. It has been 3 years since I began the project and ...
