Re: AtTheBrink's FS-18
I'd recommend a shallow low spot ~1/4" in sole of the cockpit corners where the drains will pick up the water (depending on the type of scupper you use). It's one of the 2 or 3 minor things I would change I mine build now that I've ran it for a couple of years. You'll probably end up plugging t...

Once cured you pull the peel ply and can then lay your next layer (or primer) straight onto it. It leaves a surface with a fine rough texture that can be bonded to and takes the surfac...

Re: Rub Rail for FS 18
With the flexible rubrail you really can't pre-drill the holes because you need to stretch the material a little as it's applied, at least that's what I did. I think they recommended a screw every 6". The directions for the Taco stuff suggest anchoring a section of it at the stern, then stretch...

Re: Rub Rail for FS 18
I posted this in your build thread too:
I used Taco #809 Flexible Rubrail kit. Includes SS crews & insert. I heated the roll up in hot water and used a heat gun for wrapping around the bow on mine.

Re: AtTheBrink's FS-18
Bob just looked at your website that boat looks very sharp, what did you use for a nonskid? it looks like it is raised very cool I like it. Hi Peter - the non-skid is called Seadek, there is a similar product called Hydroturf that is a bit cheaper, but the colors are more for the jet ski crowd. It'...

Re: AtTheBrink's FS-18
You'll roll this thing with a jacked up 40 horse, a center console & no skeg. Your draft at rest will suck too. But it's just my opinion & everybody's got one. Good luck with the build - Bob

Re: A Cracker built FS18
I hope to have mine going before the holidays also. There will be a considerable break from building for the Mardi Gras season, so I need to get on it quickly. This is the first one I've noticed going together as suggested, with the decks in place. It looks easier, no elevating the frames on the st...
