Re: NV 23 Build

Don't worry about the gap, by the time you have filled it and taped it and then covered it with numerous layers of glass you'll wonder why you ever worried about it at all....it will be strong believe me.

UK C21

Hi Guys, this is the third season that my C21 has spent on the mooring and it is running fine with no problems and getting loads of use....when I'm not working or the weather is rubbish. My regular fishing partner has built the Mangusta and runs it out of Hayling Island. Question: Are there any othe...

Hi, don't worry about the stroingback being straight....just strong and unlikely to move. The frames will dictate how straight your boat is. I used a centre line for mine and plenty of attention with a spirit level. Don't allow yourself to get too fixated....a few mm one way or another will not matt...

Hi Mal, I have looked at the study plans for your craft. If I was building it I would place both in the cabin, on the floor, one on either side hidden within cabinets or under the seats. I would then use commercial grade cable for the power to the engine etc. One on either side would promote even we...

Hi, I don't want to throw a spanner in the works but I would not personally go for a Volvo. I have had one in the past and I personally think that they are overly complicated. I think that a marine engine should be simple as it promotes reliablility and is more easily repaired at sea. The second , m...

Hi, I fitted mine on the floor inside the console, keeping the weight towards the centre of the craft, easily accessed and nice and dry. I would avoid putting any excess weight at the rear as it could have an impact on the boats ability to get on the plane as quickly as otherwise.

Hi, I decided, a purely personal decision, to add extra frames for added strength. I took a centre point between the two main frames in the body of the craft and created extra ones by effectively copying the nearest and adjsuting a little for the difference in size. These passed from the gunnel, dow...

C21 SECOND YEAR

Hi Guys , I just thought that I would let you know how my C21 is managing after two years in the water. It spends all year on a mooring for instant use, weather permitting, and comes out for about 4 weeks a year for it's annual service. So far I have found no real problems at all with the exception ...
