Re: Woods Skoota 32DM
You have a beautiful boat there Dan. I have admired the Skoota series ever since Richard Woods motored by us, on his Skoota 28, when we were cruising in discovery passage, on the east side of Vancouver island. 2014 I think. I was on a 42' trawler, probably going 8 knots, and he effortlessly and quie...

Re: Fuel Lines
Checked old info I have and the shields - comflex I used for fuel fill is only rated for A1 as per their tech department. Any other fuel fill hose I could find was A2. Quite an improvement but still not as good as A1-15.

Re: DE 27.5
Check the rating on your fill hose as well. I had problems with letting gasoline sit in a marine rated fill hose that went horizontally for a bit. Overfilled the tank and left fuel in the hose. Really bad fumes after a while. Talked to engineering at one supplier and was told that it was not meant t...

Re: MT24 Build - Upstate NY
Sounds like a good decision. Building the big house can definitely be pushed back to make room for doing something your kids are interested in. You already have a place to live that you and your kids enjoy. Life is good. I found building my boat very much a way of lowering the stress level in my lif...

Re: Plywood checking without cloth?
I had BS1088 meranti plywood check under 3 coats epoxy, 2 coats system 3 hi build primer, and 3 coats of a very tough alkyd paint. This was on the side walls of the cockpit which were one of the few areas outside that I didn't cover with at least 6 oz cloth. No problems anywhere else at all. Wouldn'...

Re: Mm21 motor
Hi Josh. On my hmd19, Evan specified the 25" shaft and it put the prop below the level of the skeg. I believe that he wanted to be sure that the prop didn't come out of the water in rough weather. I think that there may be enough similarities between the designs for this to possibly apply. Here...
