It's a fun thing to see rotating. True 360 degree propulsion.

However in industry usually Azipod has been common. It's much simpler and it's supposed to produce better efficiency.

I would guess catamaran or trimaran could use more sails than kayak as there is much more stability. Also the hulls can be made for speed and there's no reason to have stability for separate hulls. About the shape of hulls - especially with more sail area you could have planing capable hulls. And th...

Hull speed is a speed where wave making resistance starts to increase for some hulls. If hull makes very little waves - like long and narrow kayaks - the effect of hull speed is less. So a hull speed is always there, but it's effect might not be noticeable. wiki says: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hu...

How's the rpm's, speed and trim with half or 3/4 throttle? It does not matter if the WOT rounds are bit low currently if the motor is happy in cruise speed. Also I believe the engine has break-in perioid currently. It might start to turn more rounds after some time. So, if the boat goes fine now cru...

You should use epoxy for the whole process. Plain epoxy to coatings, fiberglassing and prewetting seams. Thickened epoxy (epoxy+woodflour or commercial filler) as a glue and as a putty. The amount of filler can vary depending the case and materials. But, first - read the tutorials! http://boatbuilde...

De-25 is a planing boat. That means a smaller engine might not be enought to get her to plane. If 90hp is too much maybe you'll happy with about 5 knots speed with 9.9 hp engine. And where you can buy gas at 1.49 e/l ? that's pretty cheap! Also de-25 is a new design - not many has been done yet so t...

Ohh, someone has had the same idea as I. I've been drawing such boats for long time - just for fun. Idea is to have very slim main hull which gives nice displacement speed over hull speed and the "outriggers" will give stability. Not sure how it'll do in waves. Thats a nice looking one :D ...

I think Jbo might do well with a sponsoon boat or such. There was some talks about one in this forum. Two sponsoons and a armchair in a middle.
