As an aside, I noticed the tach at 4200 rpm in the shot (can't quite read the GPS numbers). This means we're doing around 32 mph in a 1' chop. That's my 220lb son up front sitting the casting deck. Notice any spray? Me neither :D http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/11134/normal_chuck1%7E0.JP...

Just About to Get It "Wet"

Lucky, I'm happy for you and wish that everything goes well on "Launch Day!!". I can't wait until my turn comes. As WobblyLegs said, "That is a damn fine looking boat... I like the bright trim, adds class!". Ditto for me also. What can I say, it's what I'm looking forward to for ...

The anchor is a 5kg (11lb) Bruce style, 10' of 3/8" galvanized chain and 150' of ½" nylon braid. Secured to boat by 1-½" galvanized lifting eye threaded onto the end of the towing eye. http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/11134/normal_anchor%20stowed.JPG Lucky, I'm trying to ...

Hi Bill, There is no drainage from the anchor locker into the boat, only to the outside. In fact, I only made the hole tonight... Then I made a "wedge" so that all surfaces in the locker slope downward to that hole: As to the foredeck, what you're looking at in that picture is the cleat o...

Quick update... All the woodwork in the anchor locker is finished. Dimitris - I've thought about your suggestion about keeping it sealed, but for now I'm going to have a hatch there, and none on the deck; that may change after using the boat. Isn't that the greatest part of building your own boat -...

Hi Bill, welcome back. I saw your post on Louis' thread - good luck with the new career! All the stuff I'm using is West (I know, some will ask why, but it's the easiest most consistent supply I can get here) and the fairing mixture is epoxy mixed with their "Low Density Filler 407." It's...

Moving along steadily at the moment, working one area while another cures, a little bit here, a little bit there, and by the end of another week a whole lot seems to have been done. Hi Wobbly, This is Billtwo and back in business (or soon will be). I'm now playing "catch-up" by loo...

Hi Bill, good to hear you're back at it. If your new career works out you'll be building a new TW35 :D in no time. The OB17 would make a nice tender for her... To deal with your runs, instead of sanding, try scraping instead. Use any razor sharp steel blade held 90° to the surface and draw towards...

Lucky_Lou's Console

Lucky_Lou said, I designed it. I played in 3D CAD until it looked right, then I mocked up in cardboard until the scale was right for me. If anyone's interested, I can post the plans in my gallery or email. It's Billtwo back again. :D I've been out of the picture since August of 2006 and have been wo...

Many thanks guys, a modified #2 it is. *SWMBO also picked the second one. BillTwo: My console is 30" wide at the base tapering to 25" across the top. It's 41" tall and 36" long not counting the slight overhang of the dash. I bought an EZ Loader bunk trailer last fall on sale. Gr...
