The Hamilton jet will be fitted to a Ford 250 crossflow, inline six. Cheap to buy, cheap to rebuild, and cheap to pick up marinisation parts.
I've just added some pics after fairing, adding strakes, and priming. They are in my gallery if anyone wants a peek.
Warren.

Strakes
Hunch, Looking at your strakes, one thing that caught my eye was the middle one finishing right in front of the pocket drive. While researching using a hamilton jet, one of the rules is that any strakes that are within the width of the intake, must finish a metre or more before the intake. The reaso...

Re: XF20 Ride and Handling
Still cavitates some in the turns (err skids) but not as bad as with the 3 blade. Just fitted running strakes to mine Hunch, will post some pics for you in the next couple of days. They aren't wide as planing is obviously not an issue with this design. They are about 30mm deep, and run 3/4 the leng...

Doing that at the moment...
I'm fitting a Ford 250 crossflow into my xf20 as we speak. If you stick to a motor used regularly in boats, you should be able to access the bits and pieces fairly easily. For example, chevy engines are used extensively in ski boats, and you can pick up good exhaust manifolds cheap in the classified...

Try Line-X
Have a look into Line-X !! This product actually comes from the States, and a mate of mine has a distributorship for it here locally in West Oz. Line-X is a bed liner used for pickups etc., but is also used by the USA Navy for deck grip, and protection. I'm using it for the bottom of my boat, I don'...

Hi guys, Back again after a little spell, with some progress on the modification of the XF20 hull. I have flipped the hull and added a mild v underneath to provide a better flow of non aerated water to a hamilton jet intake. Can't seem to insert a pic here  , so try my gallery as I have added t...

Hi Redfish, I also looked at an outboard jet. It was the precursor to eventually installing the hamilton jet in my xf20. In case you're not aware, and have an existing outboard, the manufacturer of the outboard jet lower units has an extensive range that will suit most standard outboards. All outboa...
