Re: Feral Pigs

Rode by three little porker last night on the bicycle. They didn't mind the autos & trucks, but I wasn't welcome. Too bad, they were 40 to 60 pounders ----- yummy! Yep, Florida has a pig problem.

Re: Biaxial Fiberglass

With the epoxy you will use to laminate - fiberglass is fiberglass. Biaxial is no different. I have heard but not experienced that there is fiberglass cloths with coatings that can effect lamination, but have never found any. BEST Advise: buy it from Jacques and you can sleep sound that you will hav...

Re: Drift boat

Also checkout "Butler Projects" - he's written up a couple of plans for "Outdoor Life" and is stich and glue all the way. Lot's of NW flavor as compared to Jacques' SE & Gulf focus.

Re: XF20 Performance

The Blue Boat does have a tunnel - and with the jet it skips mud bars. 50HP Yamaha with jet drive, ran fine with four aboard.

Re: XF20 jet outboard, same tunnel as prop outboard?

The pictures of the blue XF20 where the guy is scooting along in real shallow water is using a jet foot on the outboard. He did modify the tunnel - he made it shallow and it works very well. You might have to do some major searching but he posted in the forum about his build.

Since Thanksgiving is upon us .... meaning if you have a SWMBO there won't be any building going on  ... try a little boil test on the 3/8th Luan. Cut a piece and boil it for twenty minutes, cool, boil again .... If it does not delaminate, it will be good for building .... particularly for war...

Jacques can certainly design one, but he dosen't have much experience with the design or use. His best designs are versions or take-offs on those he would use or has used in the past. There are several other designers that have S&G drift boat designs on the web and they come from the land of dri...
