Re: Opinions wanted FS12 or GV11

I can speak for the GV11 since I've been playing with one for a few years now. Mine ran ok with a 9.8 4S but after adding glass to the bottom and biax inside, the additional weight made it difficult to plane with the family aboard. I've made a few alterations over the past couple years with an exten...

Temp. hijack response: Thanks for the compliments. Was powered with a 9.8 Tohatsu but upgraded to a Honda 20 with power tilt. Before Evan gets too nervous, the bottom has 6oz. cloth and much of the interior joints including the inside bottom are biax. I installed a dolefin because of slight porpoisi...

Tim, I posted a couple more pictures of my GV11 since Dave was kind enough to mention me and to help with your decision. These were before painting the interior so its easier to see the mods. The paint scheme was inspired by Gary's GV11 Kelaga and Gerry F made the grating in his GV11 which I copied....

Robert you are doing a nice job. I like the interior layout. Where on the Cape are you? I'd like to see your boat as well. I'm frequently in Orleans and will definitely be up the last week in July and first week of August with my GV11. Shoot me an email, mhummel140 at gmail dot com

Hey Jay Burgess

Hi Jay,
I'm considering the FS17 as my next project and was wondering if you would mind me stopping in to see your boat this weekend. Let me know if you can spare 10 minutes of your time. Shoot me an email me at [mhummel] [at] [altierisw] dot com
Thanks,
Marty

Scott, I agree with Boomer that a platform between the seats would be a better balance point. At times I stand on the rear seat of my GV11 while casting the fly rod. I also car topped the boat for a season on an SUV and could have done it in the bed of my pickup. Its a little heavy but managable. Th...

Plymouth, MA Builder's meet?

Just a note to anyone interested in gathering for some boating, food and drink. There was a previous discussion about meeting on Saturday June 30. My family and I will be boating out to the backside of Plymouth's Long Beach on the 30th. Parking and launch ramp at the town wharf. We plan to head out ...

June 30 works for me. I like the south shore if a spot can be found. Definitely a shorter ride from CT. As far as the Cape goes, the traffic getting that close to the 4th will probably be tough. I have limited knowledge of south shore boating access. Looking forward to it.

Marc,
My only conflict in June is Father's Day weekend, the 17th. Beyond that I see no other conflicts that I'm aware of. Do you want to start a new thread and subject heading so others might notice?

Marc & Dave, I'm going to jump in on this thread and cast my vote to figure out a time for a meet. I feel bad not making the trip last year. Is Cape Cod too far for either of you? I mention it because we are up there almost monthly beginning the end April through October. I can still make a trip...
