D12 Oar Length

I have checked out the West Marine article on oar length (beam 12 x 3 + 6) But in the article it mentions that boats with narrow beams may need smaller oars, how much smaller? any help would be appreciated.

DT

glass bottom boat

DaveD

I was originally think that the 2nd piece of glass would do what the frame did. Do you think that I should put the frame on the floor of the boat and on the bottom, or just the floor? BTW here are some links that I found in a search.

www.kayakforum.com/cgi-bin/Building/index.c...

glass bottom boat

Thank you for the quick reply . I do not know where to get this sealer from, and I was wondering if this arrangement would work. I would probably put the glass under the seat.

glass bottom boat

I am thinking about doing a bit of glass work (maybe a 1 square foot piece of glass on the bottom of the boat) the boat is a D12. Since it is flat bottomed it doesn´t seem like it would be too hard. Thanx
Thanks for the feedback, I think I know what I am going to do. Quick question, does anyone have a preference for the sail type, there are two options, Sprit or Sailboard? Thanks again for the responses!

It is on the bottom of the nesting drawing. Where the two diagonal lines meet I have the extra 34 inch. I have already drawnmeasured the two longer pieces and am working on the two shorter pieces.

(Extremely quick reply!)

nesting vs. real

I just started on my D12, and I am having a problem with the nesting. The nesting drawing does´nt seem to match what I have on my board, I have a 34 inch difference in what I have on the board and what the nesting shows. I am working on the bottom of the side panel drawing. We measured the plywood a...
