Re: Jackplate question
No holes in the transom yet! Sorry, forgot to mention that. Fresh build, not yet splashed.

Jackplate question
Just received my Bobs mini hydraulic jack. 6" setback with 6" of travel. It appears that the resting position of the jack has a natural rise of about 2.5-3"... Meaning when the jack is at its lowest setting, the motor bolt holes are about 3" higher than the holes where the jack m...

Console mounting fs17
I'm not planning on building my console with a base, and it will be permanent. So fillets and tape on the inside(double) and outide will be sufficient for a CC, right? Or do I need to build a lip on the inside to do a bolt through? The plans only show consoles with a base so I'm just curious

Re: Bow eye too low?
I'm pretty pumped for sure! My coastline cost $2800. For a 17ft boat, ~80" beam. That's with aluminum wheels and aluminum spare, which is definitely the way to go. I called mid summer. So I think my wait was 7 weeks. I'm taking the boat down for the fit on Oct. 3rd

Bow eye too low?
As I understood it, you just don't want the eye so tall that it pulls the bow down onto the trailer; you want it to be pulling upward onto the bow rest of the trailer... That being said, I could be totally wrong. My buddy's HB is very high: http://i44.tinypic.com/2zixzli.jpg I put mine a lot lower, ...

Re: To repaint or not...
There's some orange peel. A little run too. But I'm just thinking, if I already have to do touch ups if I shouldn't just sand and recoat everything. Is it hard to tip and roll small areas and blend them?

To repaint or not...
My dad talked me into letting him spraycoat my fs17. This was over a year ago, and since then I've flipped it and started finishing the inside. But I'm just not real happy with how it turned out. It's the s3 whidbey white. Like the color, just not the application. Would it be crazy to roll and tip o...

Re: Fs17 motor shaft length
Right, I see it in the building plans. The low sheer doesn't have a motor well though, so the ~20" or 19.5" from the keel ends up being right at my rear casting deck. Also I don't have a clamping board, but its no problem to glue some scrap inside the transom. I guess I'm just confused as ...
