Re: FS18 Rounded vs Hard Chine
I built the rounded chine FS18. If I had to do it over, I'd build it as designed. With someone on the bow, the chine is below water and makes no difference. Just my $0.02.

Re: Hurricane Harvey
Our house in Port A made through unscathed. Thank God for new construction and giant dunes protecting it.
My house in Houston still has 3' of water. It's a mess. The good news is the FS18 had enough positive buoyancy to float the trailer and is undamaged in my garage.

Re: Shortening fs18
Not sure why this hasn't been mentioned but you can scale 10% in length or width or both. Scale it down 10% in length and it's nearly 16'. It's a different boat though. You'll certainly lose draft. I have a 25 Yamaha 2 stroke and it's perfect on the FS18. I have a buddy who just got rid of his FS18 ...

Re: Custom Builder List
I'd build one.
Houston, TX
Assuming the buyer is paying for the trailer, I'd deliver from anywhere in Texas, east to the Atlantic as long as it's south of the Mason Dixon.

Re: Mikem59 FS18 Build
I have the same jack plate and had the same issues. Drill and through bolt that outboard. The second or third time I had mine out, I was just pulling out of the no wake zone in the harbor and got up in plane. I turned around because I'd forgotten to put on the kill switch chord. The outboard was rot...

Re: FS-18 (wide body)
Is this being designed with a tiller in mind or remote steering?

Re: K2FS18
I used perfection on my entire boat.
A few weeks ago, I pulled the boat out of state fishing. Several guys who'd never seen it before commented how much it looked like a production boat. I attribute much of that to the paint. Really good stuff.
Your boat's coming along nicley btw.

Re: OB17 Custom Tweeks
Haven't looked at the plans but the rule of thumb is you can go plus or minus 10% in length and/or width. The nesting will get all jacked up though and cost you more. Jacques does a really good job using as little plywood as possible for each of his designs. Also, order the metric plans as it'll be ...

Based on the previous pic, I think you're good. Two overlapped 6" tape on every seem inside and out. Then the 12oz fabric, one layer inside and out. I think you're good.
Nice glass work btw.
