XF20 fuel tank

What size fuel tanks are ya'll using. Aluminum or Poly I am planning to use a 15 to 18 gal built in tank and place it on top of the stringers under the front casting deck. The plastic ones are looking pretty good to me but once it is sealed up it will be very difficult to check on the condition in t...

that is exactly what I want mine to look like.

Good thing I already have an XF20.

The next one will incorporate all the changes I want to the one I have.

Looks like this build will take a while.

Hatches

Any of you build your own hatches.

I hate the way those plastic hatches look.

I plan to build guttered hatches for my boat.

Any of you that have built their own please chime in.

I'm looking for ideas and pitfalls.

XF20 question

I plan to put in fore and aft casting decks. From you experienced builders how much more plywood, fiberglass and resin will I need?

What thickness plywood would you use for the casting decks?

I am using the fiberglass kit for the sole.

I to was skeptical. Have a friend with a 21' bay boat and he said it worked well for him so I bought one. granted it doesn't take much to hold an FX20. the first day I had mine I stopped at a spot in the st marks river at the edge of the channel. Current was humming drifting in the river my GPS was ...

Re: spear anchor

On my last trip to St joes' bay I had noticed that several boats at the ramp had 4-5 ft. pieces of re-bar lying in them, I wondered how they were using them that would probabally work well here as lakes and rivers here soft bottoms Yea the rebar trick works well but in salt water it won't be long t...

I have used stakeout poles many times on the flats. In fact I have used my pushpole to stake out more than anything when I lived in titusville and fished the Indian River and Mosquito Lagoon. The area I fish now, St Marks Florida, has a mix of water. We not only fish flats but also rivers and deep c...

What brand are you using?

I have a CMC on mine.

If you use the CMC I recommend that you put the relays under the engine cover. I've got them on both of my boats and the only problem I Have ever had is the relays corroding up from getting wet. They are well protected under the engine cowling.

I have the cajun anchor on my FX20. Have it mounted on the stern platform right in front of the engine using the same rubber holders you use for your removable lights. Fits perfect. Handy and out of the way. The thing works great. Really suprised me. It will hold in a good current in the right botto...
