Tim, I am watching your build very closely and with great anticipation for new photos. It looks great. I ordered the C 17 plans - but have been bogged down redoing the floor on my OD 18 - and have now been toying with the idea of the C19. Yours looks like a "big boat" - does it feel like t...

We call all clear finishes "varnish" so LPU varnish, epoxy varnish etc - sorry for the confusion. I will put clear LPU with UV inhibitors over clear epoxy - and see what happens!

If it all goes pear shape the sanding machine will make an appearance!

Thanks Ks8 for your informative reply - and Jacques - I have found a paint manufacturer who says that he has UV inhibitors and any good paint manufacturer should mix them into their paints. He says he can mix me a batch with the maximum dosage and that should work - I have opted for LPU with the UV ...

Not quite - I would have the whole pump in a box mounted to the outside of the boat on the transom - so no holes through the boat except one well above the water line to bring the pipe and wire through- I hope this is a bit clearer.

Thanks for the photos

Larry - or anyone else with a good idea - are you going to thru hull mount your wash-down/live bait pump? If so where and how? I am re-doing my OD 18 and am tempted to add one, though I am thinking of putting a box that screws to the transom with the pump in it poking out just below the bottow of th...

Thanks, I will speak to the paint manufacturers direct - if the phonelines are working! Would you recommend a woven fiberglass layer over the front part of the floor - or will a few layers of epoxy surfice? I dont really want to do this repair again - I could almost have built another boat by now! T...

What type of Varnish over epoxy?

I have finally got round to ripping out the front half floor section on my OD 18 which had separated from the stringers - both on the top (floor) and bottom (sole side) - so I am really glad that I didnt try and do a quick fix. I have also built a new console and raised the front floor section 3 inc...

Richard, I built the OD 18 when there were less choices and I toyed between the OD 18 and the C 19. I think it is fantastic and have had a lot of fun with it. I would definitely opt to build it over the 16 foot version. Like Tom and Brent say, the extra materials are nothing compared to the time and...

Do you have any idea of what sort of time frame you might be looking at?

I really think power cat plans would sell like hot cakes - there are absolutely none that I can find online
