We decided to go with a really high console on our ph16. Our photos are posted on page 3 of the builders galleries under "Todd." You can see that we also built a fairly high leaning post that sits on the rear deck that also will provide storage. I am 6'2", and the setup is really comf...

Thanks for the suggestions. I had intended use countersunk bolts with oval heads but had concerns, and your idea of using flat heads to reduce stress makes much more sense.

Phantom 16 Windshield

I'm trying to figure out how to fasten a homemade plexiglas windshield to the console? Rather than mounting on top of the console, our windshield will wrap around it with about a 2 or 3 inch overlap. I was going to use bolts with spacers of some kind to leave a gap between the console and plexiglas ...

Sorry, guess I didn't post the pictures properly. They are in the new additions to the builder's gallery.

Phantom 16 floats!

We finally finished (almost) our Phantom 16, which we started the day after Thanksgiving 2002. :D Put her in the water on Sept. 19. Not the prettiest boat on the water, but at least she floats/runs. We made the console higher than the one suggested on the plans, and we built a storage compartment on...

Steering cables for PH 16

We're about to purchase steering cables for our PH16. Anyone have any idea what length we need. We're using Jacques' center console design, but ours is approx. 1 foot taller. Our guess was that 13' would be sufficient. Is it okay to get them longer than necessary just to be safe? Thanks. Todd

Wow! What a selection. That looks like the solution we've been looking for. Thanks. Todd

Thanks for the tips. Doug, we were intrigued early on by your construction of the Kevlar rub rails (as well as your hatches) when we first reviewed your Web site. At this point, my girlfriend is demanding that we get our craft out of her garage and into the water ASAP, so we thought a prefab rub rai...

Rub rail for PH 16

We've been looking to purchase rub rails for our PH 16, but they seem to be hundreds of dollars for the plastic/plastic tube type. We don't really want to make our own out of wood, but has anyone seen some available for purchase that are more reasonably priced? Thanks. Todd
