Re: FS18 video
Boat looks fantastic. Sorry if I missed a build thread, but I was curious about a couple things. Where did you source the trapezoidal hatch in the bow, and what color did you paint the deck? It seems to match the color of the larger hatches perfectly. I bought the same ones and have been concerned a...

Re: Drain Pipe Question
I checked out Wadestep's setup, which looks great, but something beefier than schedule 20 would allow me to sleep better at night. At this point, I'm leaning towards Fuzz's solution.

Re: Drain Pipe Question
If that 1" plug is like the others I have found, it is really 7/8". Too small to fit 1" schedule 40. The 1.25" plug really is 1.25", but that is actually too small to fit 1.25" schedule 40 because that pipe is not true to size. 1.25" schedule 80 IS supposedly true ...

Re: Drain Pipe Question
Thanks for the input, guys. At least it looks like I'm not the only one who has run up against this. In checking out some specs, it looks like 1.25" schedule 80 PVC actually has a 1.25" I.D. Now I just need to figure out where to find some.

Drain Pipe Question
It seems absurd to me that I have not been able to work this out on my own, but I cannot seem to find a size of PVC that will fit one of the standard size marine drain plugs. In both the pipe and plugs worlds, sizes are nominal only and nothing seems to jive. What has worked for others? I need the d...

Doubleup,
I'm working on a fuel tank arrangement almost identical to yours. How did you vent the compartment in a way that satisfied the inspectors? Thanks.

Re: FS18; Fuel System Guidebook
The tank will vent to the side of the hull. The louvered compartment vents can exit into the cockpit though, correct? Hull space is at a premium on the FS18.

Re: FS18; Fuel System Guidebook
I'm sure it's to be found somewhere in the forums or in the link above, but I haven't been able to locate it yet. I know that with the Moeller tanks, both the tank and the compartment must be vented because the plastic tanks leach fumes. But is it necessary to vent the compartment to atmosphere if a...
