Re: Panga 22 suitability

Thanks Matt Gent and Daddy for your input. I like things that are simple and work well, so I will try hard to tame my appetite for any unnecessary aesthetic additions. Work boat finish is fine with me. I'll worry less about banging it up and having it stolen if it isn't perfect, as well. Matt, I'll ...

Re: Panga 22 suitability

Thanks AdamG and Luzzar. Good info. I'll probably be freediving with 1-2 others, without tanks probably. It sounds like the Panga 22 is the right boat, but I'm getting cold feet due to completion time. I'm understanding the 100 hrs for a working boat suggested on the study plans is unlikely. Luzzar,...

Re: Panga 20 - Completion

Hello,

I just bought plans for the Panga 22, and I'm curious about your build time. The plans suggest I can have one together in 100 hours. I'm getting the impression that's impossible. What was your experience?

Re: Panga 22 build time

Thanks for the input. The 50 hours was for the hull, and I planned to spend another 50 finishing it up. But it sounds like I'll need 150 before it's all done at least. My wife won't like a boat half built in our small yard for too long, so I'll probably wait until fall when I can invest more time in...

Re: Panga 22 build time

Thanks for the reply. Yes, it's 50h over a week or two, should be plenty of dry time. Oh, the dreaded sanding.

Panga 22 build time

Hello, I just bought plans for a Panga 22. The labor estimate in the study plans says something like 50 hrs for the hull and suggests 50 more hrs for a workable finished product. I’ve got lots of irons in the fire, but might have a 50 hour window in a few weeks to get the hull done, leaving another ...

Panga 22 suitability

Hello everybody, I just bought the plans for the Panga 22 because it’s more like the boats that impressed me passing through surf while I was in the Dominican Republic than any of the other plans I’ve seen. I want something that will provide a comparatively smooth ride in choppy seas, and that’s che...
