System 3 paint still my favorite
After some difficulty with cold temps and dew, the outside repaint is done. One man roll and tip is tiresome but effective. Color is 50 parts orca white, 8 parts mercer green. Will use 1 inch vinyl white tape to clean up color border.

Re: Foam rollers - bubbles
Induction note is on primer only, no such instruction on the S3 topcoat. New rollers came in, same result. Lots of bubbles. I gave up and taught myself to roll and tip myself. Pretty much triples the time to do a coat. In the immortal words of Tom Petty (RIP) "There ain't no easy way out"....

Foam rollers - bubbles
Many years ago when I built my C19 high density foam rollers did a great job with system3 paint. I am having a hell of a time now finding a roller that doesn't leave a trail of thick bubbles! Ordered a few "better" quality rollers from THD. But no one has them "in stock". Anyone ...

C19 repaint - use Sea Dek?
Hi Jacques, Trying to retire and repainting C19 #1 is my first retirement job. Thinking of using sea dek on cockpit floor and topside deck. Thoughts? Anyone use this and have any longevity issues? Thanks in advance

C19 hull #1 revisited after 13 years
She's on her 3rd boat cover and could use some new paint in spots but we took her out last weekend and she still ran like a top. Building this boat was probably one of the smartest things I've done with free time. Only issue the boat has ever had is old fuel. Now that I use non ethanol, with ring fr...

Re: Can anyone point me toward a C19 build thread?
One way to shift the CG in the C19 design is to use just one 30 gallon tank and leave the aft tank location empty. I have the full 60 gallons capacity in my C19 and have never used more than about 35 gallons in a day. 115 4 stroke. I have run 3 hours out trolled 4 hours and run 3 hours back in witho...

Re: 4 stroke outboard low and mid range intermittent misfire
Bingo. Our first guess "appears" to be it. Changed the plugs, #1 was "black" and others were "brown sugar". I will test later but the visual evidence of #1 slightly fouled enough to cause intermitent low speed misfires was compelling. Thanks Wadestep.

4 stroke outboard low and mid range intermittent misfire
Took the boat out yesterday and had a minor issue. The boat ran great at high speed. On a plane at over 3500 RPMs was as good as it ever ran. 4900RPMs gave us 39 mph on the GPS on a C-19 with the bimini top up, without even trimming the motor out for max speed. It's a Yamaha 115 4 stroke, 2003. At i...

Re: Ethanol blended fuels
In ten years my 2003 115 4 stroke's only issues stem from old gas. We finally have ethanol free gas at Gate here in Jax on San Jose Blvd. So I buy gas there, add stabil and if I don't use it in 6 months I have a small electric gas pump I hook up to a y valve back aft near my filter and pump it into ...

Re: C19 plans missing dimensions
I built hull #1 of c19. There are certainly no "extra" dimensions, but I had no trouble plotting all the points and drawing the stringer parts. The boat is now 8 years old and still doing well. I will say it sometimes looks like there are very few dimensions and I had to study hard, but I ...
