Re: FOSTER'S XF20
One thing to add I didn't do the radius on my tunnel just strait up on the sides and 18" wide. I have no baffle and no vent valve. Nice video Cali123!!! I haven't noticed that much spray coming from the side of my XF-20. I will try and video the hull running next set of off days. I think with t...

Re: FOSTER'S XF20
Decided to experiment with the tunnel and venting it. Went with a 1 1/2" thru hull fitting and then added some fuel fill hose I had left over from the build. It did the trick and I was able to run the boat over 40mph without having to porpoise the front of the boat to get to that speed. :D :lol...

Re: Bottom Graphite
The graphite has a shinny finish and I think Cracker Larry has perfected the application method. I applied mine before flipping the hull over to finish the inside of the boat. It will be a lot easier to paint it now than try and flip the hull back over. The graphite is easy to apply with a roller an...

Re: TEXAS SLED?
Just buy a little at a time. In a couple of years you will have a complete boat and the kids can enjoy it with you. They seem to like the water when I saw yall at the sand bar.

Re: FOSTER'S XF20
If I had it to do over I would go with a 4" or a 6" setback. The extra weight further back on the transom doesn't help it just means you need more weight further upfront to offset the motor being further back on the transom.

Re: FOSTER'S XF20
Jorgepease just to give you an idea of the extra weight the Mercury 115 motor ways in at 375 lbs vs Yamaha 70 2 stroke at 228 lbs. The 8" jack plate is about 56 lbs. There is 35 gallons of fuel toward the front of the boat which is roughly 212 lbs. I also have 3 batteries under the center conso...

Re: XF20, Raised Sole and decks, July 2012, FOSTER
The draft is 4 1/4" to 4 1/2" without anyone in the boat. I haven't been able to get a draft number with a couple of good size guys in it yet. The changes I made to the sole was I raised it 13" or 14". I found that when I raised the sole there was no need for the gunnel. The rais...

Re: FOSTER'S XF20
I added a few things Lowrance HDS8, Motor Guide 24 volt 75lbs. thrust trolling motor, boarding ladder and onboard battery charger. The last picture is how happy my son is to have a boat to take fishing. http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/57415/160.JPG http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpi...
