Thanks for the response. Is the 1/4" stock for laminating made up of solid wood. or 1/4" marine plywood ripped into 1.5" strips? You can make the rub rail from either, but most people use plywood. On most designs the strips will fit better if they're cut to match the curvature of the...

Check your overall length, too. Some of these designs need the bow pulled back to get the sides to flare properly.

It's good to look at the numbers before you leap, but do remember that you wouldn't need to make all the purchases at once, and a build like this would likely take a few years.

I may be misreading things, but maybe the answer to supporting the deck spans includes cleats glued to the hull side, as well as tape along the top as mentioned. He is cleating..
