Those molds were just recomendations. The ply took them into account then did what was best. Wood knows

Re: RB16 new build KY 1st timer
I had something like that on the LB22 and faired it out. Dunno if it was necessary or not. The biger gap areas can take a piece of fiberglass to use less Quickfair.

Re: Using molds for frames?
An inch doesn't sound like much to me. They're just throw away molds right? You'll cut the frames to fit. Seem to me if it's fair and symmetrical things are fine. How close is the beam measure to the plans?

After sanding it was a dull pencil lead color and I put another coat on. In hindsight I wouldn't bother with that again. ...

Re: Polyester fabric
Also, Quickfair was an easy product for me as a first time builder to use. I sanded the glass (didn't use peelply) with 80 grit, then smeared Quickfair over it and sanded again with 80 grit. I did start mixing my own fairing mix after a bit, but Quickfair teaches you what works. You'll see when you ...

Re: Current flotation foam best practices
I went the Cape Man route on the LB22. Seems fine to me.
