I agree with pee wee, more patience but you're getting close. Can't tell if you used the PVC pieces behind the zip ties tip. That helped me a lot.

Re: GT23
Make sure you wet sand it, not dry. Too much mess if dry. I just sanded with a spray bottle of water in one hand and sandpaper in the other. Or the RO power sander for big areas. After sanding it was a dull pencil lead color and I put another coat on. In hindsight I wouldn't bother with that again. ...

Re: Polyester fabric
Also, Quickfair was an easy product for me as a first time builder to use. I sanded the glass (didn't use peelply) with 80 grit, then smeared Quickfair over it and sanded again with 80 grit. I did start mixing my own fairing mix after a bit, but Quickfair teaches you what works. You'll see when you ...

Re: Mad Dog's SK14
That looks familiar! I just ordered a seat and pedestal to add to my SK14. Kinda tricky getting the pedestal mounted but I'll fiddle it in. Was getting back ache sitting on cooler.

You know I can't remember, but I think I put a half inch or so piece of ply as a butt block underneath. I'll check later.

Re: Mad Dog's SK14
Hey MadDog, good to hear you're still at it. You may know I built the SK14 to design. I love it and was taking it to to Canyon lake for little 2 hour trips often enough 'till the lake got so low they closed my favorite ramp. I have a 5hp Tohatsu propane on the back that pushes her 10 or 12 mph and a...

I used a couple of straps around the boat to hold the skeg on. Regarding quickfair. Mix up 3 Tbs (2 resin, 1 hardener) and spead it on the boat. Let it dry and and it mostly off (5 miutes trouble). You'll now have a feeling for how it works.
