Hey all,
Anyone have first hand knowledge of how Port A is doing? I'm taking a few weeks in July and that's my destination of choice. Not too long a drive for pulling the boat, great fishing, park on the beach for swimming and good eats.

Re: Panga 20 Concerns
I accidentally drilled a hole in my sole when I was repositioning the batteries in the console. Air was expelled under pressure. Nothing extreme as I foamed under my entire sole. But it confirmed to me that those foamed, sealed compartments won't be taking on any water.

That's nothing compared to the feeling you get from the attention at the boat ramp. Or at the gas station on the way to the boat ramp.

Re: Knife making is as addicting as boat making
It isn't actually double edged. I had an Oops the first time I touched the steel to the grinder. :) I had to grind in the top bevel to fix that. But, It actually was needed as the blade is really too thick for a knife this size. http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/10050/normal_knife~0.jpg Dav...

Re: Knife making is as addicting as boat making
Thanks. The blade looks a little shorter than it is. Bad angle with the tilt of the knife resting on the sheath . It's wicked sharp. Took me a bit of time to figure that out and I probably ground off an 1/8" getting that right. Once I figured out the sharpening, no knife in the house was safe. ...

Knife making is as addicting as boat making
I've wanted to make a knife since I was a wee lad. Always had a thing for knives. My 13 yr. old told me he wanted to make one, so off we went. I finished my first one this week. Made the knife and sheath. First time doing leather work. Fun, but getting an even dye job is an art unto itself. Next up ...

Re: Fishing South Padre Island
We had a good trip. Pulled up some 40" Kings. Got my wife's uncles and cousins all hooked up except one. First day out and didn't find the pattern. There were all guys that had never been in a small boat in anything other than a lake. So quite the good time. Was doing just catch and release, an...

Re: Fishing South Padre Island
Heading out in a week. Can't wait. With all that's been going on, haven't had the boat out much. I'm going to take it out a few times to make sure it's all good to go. Looks like moderate winds from S/SE most of the week. Inlet point due East, so hopefully, nice water.
