Fairing compound is ridiculously expensive here; alternatives?
When I built my CH14 I did a bare minimum of fairing because epoxy fairing compound is insanely expensive here in the Netherlands, in contrast to in the US apparently. Is it possible to mix up my own fairing compound (preferably easy to sand)? Or are there any good alternatives? When building a bigg...

CR13 plywood availability vs plans
According to the study plans I'd need 6, 9 and 13 mm thick plywood. However, I can only get 6, 8, 10, 12 and 15 mm thickness. So what would be the best alternative for the 9 and 13 mm plywood specified (taking weight and strength into account)?

Re: CR13 questions
I see your point; the angle of the gaff determines its name. As the angle of gaff in the bottom picture is about the same as on the Valk in the top picture, that"s what I wanted to go for. But taking this confusion into account; is it still a suitable rig?

Re: CR13 questions
I found another picture of this type of boat and, more importantly, rig:

Re: CR13 questions
I thought it might be costly to have a Gunter rig made to suit the Corsair, so I tried to find something ready made. I found the Leukothea boat, which has a Gunter rig: https://www.c-yacht.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Leukothea-folder-2.pdf%3Fx84243&ved=0ahUKEwjK9r6q3N7VAhVJblAKHTY5BJ0QFgiWATA...

Re: CR13 questions
One more question popped to mind: if a Gunter rig is okay, what size (m^2) mainsail and jib would you suggest and is there a limitation for the mast height? I'm not asking for exact figures, but just something for me to go on. I will ask the owner of the sailing school on advice where to purchase a ...

Re: CR13 questions
Thanks again Jacques! True what you say about the history of the Valk. I believe it was designed and built by order of the Bruynzeel company just before WWII to show the world what their new plywoodlike product could be used for.

CR13 questions
I know it looks like I can’t make up my mind about what to build next, but I took sailing lessons this summer (quite a lot actually) and am now hooked on sailing. So no powerboat next. I have the plans for the V12 here already, but looking at them now I don’t think I should build it, as I’ve already...
