SK 13 or SK 14 max motor weight?

How heavy of a motor will these 2 boats take without totally messing up their trim? I want a boat that I can carry on top of a truck while pulling a camper so I would prefer the 13 but I already have a kicker motor I would like to use but it weighs a bout 110 pounds. I saw a bote rover paddle board ...

Re: De25 for offshore?

Matt

To me a decent period would be 6 to 8 seconds or longer. For 3 to 4 foot.

Do you have trim tabs? How slow can you stay on plane with the bracket?

Re: De25 for offshore?

Fishing is the main goal but I want a fishing boat I can stay a few nights on. I have a 20’ center console and it is good for fishing but lousy for camping on. I tried hanging a hammock from my t top and bow rail and using a backpacking stove but that didn’t really cut it. I am concerned about Loosi...

Re: De25 for offshore?

I want to fish the snapper banks off the Georgia coast.

Would like to be able to go out and fish when the weather forecast says 3 to 4 seas with a decent period.

I have a 20 foot boat but the 1 to 2 days never line up with my days off work.

De25 for offshore?

How would the de25 long cockpit work for offshore fishing? Safety wise how would it compare to a 23 foot contender or similar boat? I have the plans for the cs23 and was going to build the jump cabin version but I think I am getting old because The bigger cabin and the smaller engine requirements ar...

Re: 1984 Grady White 242 Caribbean Transom Repair

I just finished a transom job on my 20 foot stratos cc and I found that A hammer and a sharp wide chisel will get the last of wood off the glass easily. It will make a lot less dust than the grinder. I hate grinding.

Re: Transom rebuild questions

I enjoyed reading your thread

How are you sizeing the bracket you are building?

is there a standard method to assess the effect on the bracket on your trim while sitting still and running?

Re: Transom rebuild questions

Thanks fuzz

What kind of bracket did you add? Aluminum? fiberglass? Who made it?

How did it affect your trim at rest?

Did it affect your minimum planing speed?
