Re: 24' Zodiac Project

Is it painted over? I thought typically the kiwigrip is painted over? Or does it come grey? Maybe another coat of paint will soften it a little? It sure is looking good. Did you do anything to your tubes? Any thoughts on a motor(s)? No, kiwigrip is painted on, I got that resolved now that I have wa...

Re: 24' Zodiac Project

That's great you got an original bracket! Also search Shines thread on refinishing a bracket, he did a really nice job. I'm hoping to join company with you soon, I checked GSA after your note and I think one of those up now will be mine. I've been working out shipping quotes, but I need a shipper th...

Re: 1979 24' Sea Ray Hardtop Transom repair, maybe then some

SRV? I was on the bow of one just like that last year, helping a guy dock for the first time after purchasing it, when the reverse shift cable broke and we went strait into a sea wall, with throttle (he thought he was in reverse). Took a big chunk out of the starboard bow( and a little skin off of m...

Re: Runabout, powered by PWC

Will this boat be allowed to run very light glass above the swim platform for a bright finish since the jet/engine loads seem to be on the bottom of the boat? This thing really looks Awesome!

Re: Overwhelmed by latest trip to West Marine

I've tried that pre-kote with the birghtsides paint. The paint is nice but I did not like the pre-kote, it was almost impossible to sand it, it stayed "gummy." But it did stick to marine epoxy, but I never used it below the waterline. I wont use the pre-kote again.

Heloman - don't feel bad, I've been on this site since 2003 and still haven't built anything! So, how would you finish this out if you built one? I see you're a fellow Wisconsinite! There was talk at one point of a Dells Builder Meet. Maybe it's time to build and then we'll have to get Jacques &...

Re: Runabout, powered by PWC

I've been watching this site for at least at least five years, been a member for at least a couple. I've got tons of good advice from this site either directly or thorugh reading others posts; I've bought lots of materails from this site to do major repairs or crazy little projects; but I've never b...
