I had a fiberglass skiff with a 40 and I was running just over 30. My sister has a 17' aluminum jon-boat with a console and she has a 50 on it and she runs about 35. My GV-17 does 38 with a 70 so I say you will hit in the low to mid 30's. I'm sure you will do that with no problem with a 50hp! Oh tho...

My GV-17 runs about 38 with a 70 at 5500 rpm's. If you are using a 50 I'd guess in the low 30's to 35. But Jacques could give you a better answer.
