Wanted the seats and rubrail natural on my FL12 after three coats of epoxy and three coats varnish,was checking my work and on the center seat never sanded out the lines and writing :oops:

I had a blue Polytarp covering a boat and with a few months the FL sun did it in. So I tryed a silver polytarp that is UV tolerant and it didn't last much longer. So the thing is you spend all that time and effort don't think you sail will last long out in the sun :D If you look real close the tarps...

I built mine using just Marine Plywood boat came out OK and have had no checking of the wood. But if I had to do over again I would stay with the better wood. Bends easy and is lighter and is nice to work with. Even using the good wood I can't see anything over $500 basic boat :D

I had the same problem on my GF14 I found I didn't have the correct measurement on the forward seat frame was short two inches.After the fix all was OK. You didn't mix up the two center frames?????? :D

I have one question what happened to the rubrail you are going to put one on???? Will make the sides a lot stronger and stiffen the boat up :doh: :D

Can't speak for everyone who built the FL12 but I put a coat of epoxy all over the inside and outside of the boat to protect the wood :D
